Typical

Ladies and Gents.

I'm going to give a shoutout to the lovely couples at Lloyd C Bird. This includes those people who are "talking," people who are acting like they're dating, potential couples, and those who are brave enough to change their relationship statuses on Facebook, all of you.

Pretty much, I want to address any and all male/female interactions.

1) I won't spend too much time discussing this, because, to be honest, everyone and their mother likes to ramble on and on about this. However, it is a reoccurring issue.
I DO NOT WANT TO SEE ANY OF YOU PERFORMING ANY SORT OF PDA! It actually disgusts me to see your body pressed against another person's body. It's repulsive to see your tongue down their throat. Holding hands, a goodbye/hello peck, and hugs are really the only acceptable touching. I know you love your girlfriend and I know you think your boyfriend is hot, but come on. Leave the affection for personal time. It's not for everyone else to see.

2) Don't be naive. Be completely aware of the fact that in the teenage years, people are constantly changing who they are. If you have a lasting high school relationship then I am rooting for you, I promise. However, I see and hear about 4729361 break ups and broken hearts every other day. High school and college years is your time to test out and learn what type of partner you want. Learn what you like and what you don't like. Don't get your heart broken, and save yourself for the person you know is the one!

3) The way you carry yourself and present yourself speak volumes. It's crucial that if you want to seen as a respectable woman, cover it up. It's as simple as that. Gentlemen, if you want to be seen as something other than a thug, pull your pants up. I'll admit, the ladies are probably bigger offenders of the Dress Code of Being Classy than boys are. Girlfriends, guys will see you as you appear. If you like to wear skirts that barely cover up that booty and shirts that are very close to revealing something no one really wants to see, then you really aren't sending the message that you're girlfriend material. You are asking to not be respected! Don't be surprised when a guy doesn't treat you like a lady, when you can't act like one. If you are 14, don't try to look like you're 20!

4) The phrase "If you loved me, you would..." should never leave your pretty mouths! That's the worst thing I've ever heard.

5) Don't ditch your friends.

6) Don't give everything you have to anyone that will take it, if you know what I mean. Value yourself. If you get nothing else out of this fantastic blog, remember that. You are someone's dream guy/girl.

I just felt like I should speak to all of this in one blog, because I don't want it to turn into a relationship column. Just remember, never do these things again in your fabulous life. These are just my thoughts. My big issues with guys and girls in relationships.

That is all.

Let's Hold Hands

Hey ladies!

Listen up my lovelies.

Warning: This may get a little mushy.

I'm going to focus on you females this week because quite frankly, you're killing me. I'll just start out with the question this time; why do you feel the need to be so feisty to one another?!

To call the behavior between females an issue would be an understatement. It's a crisis situation, ladies!

"She looked at me the wrong way!" (She probably was looking past you, to tell the truth.)

"Why she walk around like she own the place?" (Maybe she does own the place; you don't know her.)

"She stole my man." (If your man wanted you, he wouldn't be with anyone else.)

"Why would she wear that?" (Because she wants to!)

I am simply baffled by the hostility that teenage girls have towards each other. You don't even give each other a chance. The judgement starts before you even learn her name! If she is pretty, you hate her. If she is loud, you hate her. If she has the same shoes, went out with the same boy, does her hair the same way as you do, you hate her. Its crazy, because most of the time, you don't even know a thing about the girl! We are all guilty of it.

I think, and this is just silly ole me, that you guys are just jealous. You're driven by the wrong things! Girls want guys. You want their attention, and you want it all to yourself. However, sweethearts, guys come and go. Whether you want to admit it or not, you feel threatened by other girls.

All I'm asking you to do is realize that you are absolutely beautiful and fantastic. Every single one of you. There's only one of you. Some other girl may have the hair you want, but you have gorgeous eyes! Maybe Shirley has the butt you wish you had, but your skin is flawless! You can't have it all. You are perfect. God custom made you; how could you not be perfect!?

You guys are GULPING the Haterade these days. Girls complain about how guys are jerks. Guess what? You're worse to each other! It saddens me to watch. Friends fall apart, cat fights break out in the hall, names get called, but for what? I just don't understand.

Please approach the next girl you meet with kindness and zero judgement. Be confident in yourself, and you'll find it easier to be accepting of other girls. I promise you'll find that there is so much more to the girls that you've hated over the years, things you never bothered to learn because you hated her right off the bat.

That is all.

Rainbows and Butterflies

Fighting...

This week, fellow students and human-beings, I think I'll share some nuggets of wisdom with you. I know you're probably thinking to yourself..."Well Sarah, what have you been doing for the past two weeks?! I feel wiser just reading your blog!"

My response to you would be thank you. However, this week it's gonna be good.

I was walking into the school this morning. All coffeed up and ready for a full six hours of learning. I was pumped; let me tell you. All of the sudden I heard the enchanting screeches of four delightful young women. Congratulations to them; they then had my attention.

I do not know who, what, or why they were yelling and about to engage in a physical altercation, but I'll have you know, it made me furious. Who in their right mind does that? I don't know about you, but the only thing I want to punch at seven o'clock in the morning is my alarm clock. Who is even alert enough that early in the morning to get angry and fight? It's just not normal.

It's not normal at all. I'll be frank with you, I've always found the whole idea of fighting to be a tad bit idiotic. It's so strange to me and weirdly barbaric. We've come a long way since cavemen, but for some reason high school students like to revert back to their ancestors. Fighting literally makes me think of hairy men sitting around a fire scratching their armpits. The idea that the solution to someone angering you is to prove your physical dominance over them is so silly to me. We are not barbarians. I really wish people who have differences would have like a battle of the brains instead of punching each other. To me, that makes more sense.

If someone calls me a bad name, first of all I wouldn't care (I don't value other people's options enough to let that bother me), but secondly, I wouldn't want to prove them right by fighting them! My reaction would be to prove them wrong. Call me a dumb prostitute; ok, I got you. Let's compare IQ scores! A girl steals your boyfriend, then go find a hotter boyfriend. Proving them wrong is the best revenge you could ever have. All fighting will get you is a bad reputation, 10 days out of school, a black eye, and possibly jail time. Want to really throw someone off? Give them a hug when they're trying to pound your face in. Keep it classy, not trashy.

The problem is that these days you children care too much what people think. You're entirely too insecure. There is a disgusting and overwhelming obsession with the word "disrespect." If someone feels disrespected, they flip out. Be your own person! Stand your ground and know that you are golden! Then nothing anyone could say to you would make you mad. Then the whole school would be full of rainbows and butterflies!

Why do you feel the need to hurt each other?

That is all.

Try Hard... To Stop!

It's been another action packed week at the lovely Lloyd C Bird high school. With the Socratic seminar, physics quizzes, and calculus homework, my week couldn't have been better. My grades are magnificent; I guess you could say I'm kicking butt and taking names. However, as I'm doing my thing, you guys keep distracting me! The wonderful students who roam these halls have opened my eyes to a plethora of things that need to be discussed this week. Despite the many things I've found to blog about, I had an interaction today that took precedence. This is something that has tugged at my nerves for as long as I can remember, so I'm going to take this opportunity to voice just how annoying/stupid/ignorant it is to call someone a try-hard.

Anyone who gets a good grade, gets complimented on their work, or goes above and beyond often gets labeled as a try-hard.

First of all, who ever decided trying hard was a bad thing? Last time I checked, being a hard worker was a good trait to have. It's not often that I catch myself thinking, "Man I sure do wish I was a lazy bum." I certainly don't tell my friends, "Hey guys, I just really want to find a guy who is lazy and doesn't put forth any effort." Trying hard is a good thing! No one needs to be put down for doing well. If you're guilty of using this atrocious term, take a good look at yourself. You're just jealous! I have a secret, though; you have potential, too! You're just lazy. Somehow, somewhere in time, young folks have gotten in their heads that failing and being stupid is cool. News flash: it's not. It's not cute. It's actually annoying.

So thank you to anyone and everyone who has called me a try-hard; it's actually a compliment. I'd rather be the try-hard that gets the good grade and is going somewhere in life than the loser who sits there and laughs at the people who get the good grades. Guess who is going to college and is going to be making the big bucks someday?! You got it, the try-hard.

So, let me continue to do my thing.

Why do you feel the need to put down someone who is killing it?

Let them be successful without feeling bad about it. Lay off the Haterade.

That is all.
